What will he think of next??

Steve Jobs is my idol. But as much as I love him, I get frustrated with the ever improving aspect of Apple. Don't get me wrong, I love technology; it's just knowing that whatever I buy today will be out of date in 6 months that bothers me.

This Thursday in the Wall Street Journal there was a lengthy article about Apple's new ipad. It is a "9.7 inch touch-screen device, which will let users play games, check email and read books..." Jobs' biggest issue right now is to convince customers that they need another gadget to go along with the ipod, iphone and macbook.

At the unveiling of the ipad, there were customers that said they left feeling a little disappointed, thinking that the iphone did more than the ipad despite its smaller size. The other issue was the "aggressive" pricing; starting at $499 for the entry level gadget. Jobs feels this price is fair due to the ipad being "more intimate than a laptop and so much more capable than an iphone."

The issue with this new product is the hesitancy people have with its long-term use. Will it stick around like the ipod has? Is it worth the money? I think it's going to take a lot of convincing to get the ipad to take off in today's market.

A hidden beauty

This may be a bit of a shock to everyone, but I am NOT from Utah! I grew up in a beautiful area called Jacksonville, Oregon where it stays a vibrant color of green all year long (the picture above is my front yard in the middle of winter). I want to direct this post to those of you who appreciate the outdoors and are looking for an excuse to travel this summer.

Within a half hour of my house you can do the following: raft down the rogue river, hike table rock, cliff jump, bunji jump, camp, four-wheel, hunt, explore the redwood trees, bridge jump, rope swing, visit crater lake, bike...the list goes on and on.

So for those of you who have never left Utah, take a chance and take a trip to Oregon!! It will soon become your favorite summer getaway :)
